just bought a Smith and Wesson M+P .40
unfortunatly i have to wait a few months to actaully own it and shoot it because of the NY laws. i start the application process monday for it

background check, they send a packet out to your 4 references and have to wait til all 4 complete said packet and mail it back and also need to take a safety course that has a waiting list a mile long.

one way around it is to put the gun on my fathers permit so i can shoot it for now and then transfer it when i get mine

NY and Cali are the 2 hardest states on gun laws, but here is the funny thing i live 30 minutes away from VT where there arnt any restrictions at all. but getting caught with a side arm or an "assult weapon" is felony posession and i would end up like plaxico
