Nope, and I think this may be easier and cheaper than I thought. Got the set of lights for $20 at Advance. I'll get the metal like I used for my tag bracket (super cheap) I've priced turn signals for under $20.

Gotta make a bar end mirror, too.

DLIT 03-17-2008 04:29 PM

what about brake light?

I'm gonna put the stock tail section back on and go naked on the front. The tailsection is a piece of cake. It's the front that takes so long. I hope to do a TD per month and don't feel like changing back and forth. Plus, I don't care what it looks like on the streets. I'm more into performance than looks these days.

Want to be able to cruise around legal with minimal effort

Not really. Slider and exhaust took the brunt of it. Nothing worth fixing.

fpzx10 03-17-2008 10:46 PM

The mock up. Got the lights wired and the plate is zip tied to the bracket. A LOT of the metal showing will be trimmed and blacked. Took a spin around the block, and the lights are gonna be great.

here is another option.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DASH-...spagenameZWD1V

cheapest option...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fairi...spagenameZWDVW

or cheapest option with full light and directionals.

Those are pretty cool. Thanks. I just wanted to play with this project rather than just buy and bolt on.

Pretty sweet.

Tease!

Looking good though dude. So are you going to have the race fairings on there with this stuff, or are you going to have it streetfightered for the street? The pic you showed, the fairings were off.

t-homo 03-19-2008 02:59 AM

If I end up streetfightering my next bike, I will probably buy from moto-madness.com. More expensive than e-bay, but he seems like a good guy.

Naked on the front. The tail section is easy on/off. So I built this to have headlights with just four bolts and a plug.

Someday I may really hardcore fighter this bike. Right now I just need it street legal between TDs.

Oh, btw, it is nasty here today. So no pics yet

fpzx10 03-19-2008 08:06 PM

I gotta do something like this. There was a guy on TWF that had his track 'glass on and a light mounted to those. Don't know what he did for the rear though. The gap between track days will be big enough to mount my street plastics though.

fpzx10 03-19-2008 09:26 PM

hahaha

OneSickPsycho 03-20-2008 09:41 AM

Honestly, I think that looks terrible, but it was cheap and functional... I would have spent $15 more and got one of those shitty all-in-one deals from eBay...

You're right. But it is functional and was fun putting it together. I'm probably gonna come up with a way to use the same lights on my track plastics.

I'm glad I got towards the end of this thread and see that you decided to do something else. It looked like poop, Kevin

Yeah Tyler Burroughs... gap local and is now trying to make his way racing WERA novice. One of the vendors on here sponsors him I think.
