Riceaholic 02-16-2009 08:36 PM

looks like a gixxer...

Dnyce 02-16-2009 08:36 PM

looks like italian influence in a few spots

OneSickPsycho 02-16-2009 08:45 PM

I'm doubting it.

Dave 02-16-2009 08:51 PM

is this another one of those motorcycle.com pooperchops? 'cause if it came from them id give it about as much chance as a bmw s675rr

That seems only fair.
The new Ducs look Japanese, the Jap bikes might as well look Italian.

marko138 02-17-2009 09:58 AM

I like it. Very mean looking.

Rider 02-17-2009 10:51 AM

That's a bad PS. The seat looks all fucked up. If Yamaha does come out with an R8, I don't care what it looks like, I'll be the first motherfucker in line to get one.

z06boy 02-17-2009 10:55 AM

I'd buy one if it was real.

Porkchop 02-17-2009 11:30 AM

Yea, i was about to say that there are bits and pieces from a couple bikes.... most notibly the R6....

WARputer 02-17-2009 11:48 AM

Sweet ! Where do I sign ? http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n.../larger003.gif

deals gap dragon slayer 02-17-2009 04:54 PM

wont happen... everyone got out of the middle weights except suzuki and they're recalling them all.. lol

Would be nice.. but i'm not holdng my breath... just like a couple years back when it was rumored that kawi was gonna do a zx8R...

only reason i could see for an 800 line would be motogp reps and when everyone is pulling out for wsbk as fast as they possibly can theres really not a whole lot of hope there.

Racerboy 02-17-2009 05:31 PM

I like it....enough to move from a Zuki

ceo012384 02-17-2009 05:46 PM

Yeah I'm sure with all vehicle sales in the shitter yamaha is going to come out with something to compete in a niche market segment...

and the photochop job is shitty, too.

I'll believe it when I see it.

dReWpY 02-17-2009 07:01 PM

you know how i know its fake, pirelli tires on a factory yamaha... not likey

Mikey 02-17-2009 10:35 PM

I dig the shit outta that, but I really doubt anything like it would ever see the light of day.

Of course, if they built it and it didn't have a typical Yamaha top-heavy powerband, I'd probably buy one.

Digifox 02-17-2009 10:48 PM

BAD Shoopin Thar...

1. As stated earlier..the seat is all fucked up
2.The light lines on the front dont match the tank (Head light as "pushed")
3.Look at the pain lines on the side cover, see the....Blops where its not straight?
4.The Paint, Sorry Someone used a "push" brush, and forgot to mix the colors to make it look real, Thats why some parts look like a Drawing and some parts are real.

Um...everyone it's a concept drawing. No one claimed it was on the show room floor or anything yeesh!!!

Adeptus_Minor 02-18-2009 01:37 AM

You guys have a lot better eye for photochop than I do.
Assuming you are correct about it being a fabrication, it certainly looks 10000x better than anything I could do. :idk:

Gas Man 02-18-2009 06:29 AM

Looks good.

Are those the super uber cool brembo brake caliper covers?

Amber Lamps 04-19-2009 11:49 AM

A supercharged V4/V5?:idk:

Rangerscott 04-19-2009 02:10 PM

Yup tigger. Young guy (close to my age I believe) built the whole thing. The final product is a little different than the prototype he had on the forum.

Kit and dyno

You know, I was thinking "Big deal, 159 hp..." but then I remembered that this is a sub 100 hp bike stock! WOW!

recalling why?

Particle Man 04-28-2009 05:23 PM

so lemme get this straight:

R6 = 600cc
R1 = 1,000cc
... wtf is an R8 then? If there's anything coming out, I doubt they'd call it an R8 if they want to keep things traditional...

Um... an R7 was the 750cc bike... If they ever come out with a 'Busa style bike, it'll be the R12/13/14/15 or whatever guaranteed!

Man my boyfriend has been drooling over one of them as soon as he hear it existed. He is a HUGE 5th gen. VFR fan and would love to SC his. How much is the system going for? I probably shouldn't ask that.....:panic:

Sixxxxer 04-28-2009 07:58 PM

That VFR Is Regoddamndiculous...But I like it!!!

Rangerscott 04-29-2009 12:33 AM

Around $5k Hokie. You wanna get me a kit too?

MikeSP1 04-29-2009 08:23 AM

I wouldn't even call it a prototype picture, if you look real close at the rear wheel you'll notice that the spokes curl toward the other side of the bike just like bikes with single sided swingarms and this R8 has a standard style swingarm.

Kardesign does a lot of sketches and such.
