Wow. That is one hell of a meet up.

Talk about a wide variety of vehicles. Mid 70's raised Ford P/U to a Ferrari F1. That about has every variety covered.

Gas Man 06-09-2012 10:18 PM

F me!

RACER X 06-10-2012 12:52 AM

1st sat every month, at a huge strip center before the shops open up, bikes hang out a Starbucks there, lol

Prob 30 mi from the house so it's a bit to go there

Gas Man 06-10-2012 09:38 AM

I'd go there often as well!!

fasternyou929 06-10-2012 09:47 AM

They have done that a few locations around here for years. I didn't realize the "C&C" tagline was so widespread.

ETA: Is there not a signle attractive woman in Houston? Every one caught in a picture managed to ruin the picture of a perfectly good car.

Homeslice 06-10-2012 11:56 AM

Wonder if those cars would even exist in Texas were it not for oil

Probably not.

Just like none would exist in Hollywood were it not for movies.

Or in Silicon Valley were it not for computers.

Or in New York were it not for finance.

Or in India were it not for call centers.

Or in Italy were it not for the factory.

Trip 06-11-2012 11:57 AM

I would be willing to bet that CA and NY's economies are a little more diverse than TX's

Texas has used it's oil money to attract other businesses as well. Apple and a bunch of other tech companies have moved a lot of factories to the Austin area and set up a mini Silicon Valley.

RACER X 06-11-2012 12:47 PM

yup slice

it's all we got

yes Austin has a pretty diverse economy.....But the rest? Is, say, Houston or Dallas as diverse as Chicago?

a lot of those cars are just awful. I took the Shelby Z to the local c & c style meet, parked with the vipers (hey its a dodge!) they got mad and left :lol easily the most extensively modified car in attendance and the least expensive. Also probably the only one that wasnt wallet tuned

Dude, I was just passing through here but damn... You must have a really low opinion of, as you put it, "flyover states," if our money isn't even good enough.

Homeslice 08-09-2012 06:30 PM

Hey, society seems to think it's OK to diss Cali, calling it commie, pinko, greenie, weirdo, druggies, hippies, crackheads, welfare moms, etc....

(even though we have more agricultural land than pretty much every other state....)

So I figure I'll return the favor once in awhile..

And I'm not even from here, lol

Regarding the oil biz......If you take an IT guy or engineer, working for an oil company, they will make a lot more than a similar person at a similar size firm in a similar cost of living area, but a different industry

Not really fair IMO, but I guess the high price of gas works wonders for some...lol

redflip

See, that would make some form of sense if it were a normal occurance on this forum. But so far as I can tell, it's not. Regardless, have you ever stopped to think the ragging on California is a result of the superior attitude Californians tend to take? That's one of the reasons I rag on Texans, and I live in Texas.

Not fair to pay differently for the same job in different industries, but makes perfect sense to pay more for the same job in a different geographical location? Logic fail.

Anyway, the fact that you bring it up all the time in threads that have nothing to do with inter-state rivalries, like this one, tells me there's some real resentment there. Guess I just don't understand that, given that you could very easily take your mind off all the horrible things people say about California (?) by, I don't know, going to the beach and hanging out with chicks in bikinis...

Homeslice 08-09-2012 09:10 PM

I only bring it up in Texas threads redflip

It makes sense to pay for the same job in a different city IF that city has a higher COL.

And I'm not sure that the average Californian thinks that they are a better person......Rather, that they think they live in a better place, and are bragging about it.

Anyway, I'll shut up now

It's pretty common knowledge that Californians are directly affected by the massive amount of smug in the atmosphere out there.
