???

You called the FD because you got locked out of your house?

Why didnt you get call a locksmith and save the Emergency Services for EMERGENCIES!

RACER X 02-16-2009 09:18 AM

didn't call 911, and it was a slow sunday night.......they came at their leisure about 10-15 min.

8pm

and yeah, they did this procedure often. some emergancies, most not.

Apoc 02-16-2009 09:25 AM

ok... I thought you called 911 because your kid locked you out.

Still, a locksmith would have been just as quick.

Did they have to break anything to get in?

RACER X 02-16-2009 09:32 AM

called locksmiths, $125, only 1 would come out. and not in 15-20min.

vs free

naw, they had like a jack, wedged it between the door frame, tweaked it just enough to open door, no damage to frame.

came in their big ol shiney new truck. they just opened this firehouse late dec/early jan.

mmmmmm Kids love firetrucks... make sure you bring a key with you now wherever you go [or leave one outside hidden]. Or, she just learned that locking you out isn't a big deal :dthumb:

Kids!! Got to love 'em (or else you'd kill 'em)
My son locked us out of our second story bathroom with the tub running when he was 4. We had to go out side get the ladder and break the window to get to him. The whole time he's sitting in the floor laughing:panic: Like I said you gotta love 'em!

Most inside handles that can lock, have a small hole in the center on the non-locking side, If you push the stop down in the hole with something like a coat hanger, you can open the door.

Why not leave a key outside? Or with a neighbor you trust?
