Waste

I shouldn't say that... never been on one...

oh well

I helped Drewpy work on his RC51 this weekend...OMG We changed out his stock twist grip for a HRC unit. 5 hours later we had it installed. Nothing on this bike is easy to get too. God forbid you need to work on the valves someday. We also had the forks re-worked and they did go in pretty easy. I do like Honda's, but after working on the BMW (not very often) I like having things in the open.

I will have a BMW someday

True

r!der 03-07-2008 01:59 AM

Reminds me of a joke, but it applies more to the cars.
Whats the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has the pricks on the outside. HAHA

vabarber2 03-07-2008 09:04 PM

Yeah, my older brother and uncle both have bmw dual sports! They're fun every once in a wile but id never trade my ss for it!

I'd love to hear that with an after market exhaust! fuck that thing is sweet!

and what fucking track is that... looks bad ass!

sfarson 03-07-2008 10:25 PM

One of the finest stock exhaust notes I've heard. Not sure I'd change it. The track is Ascari, in Spain. Believe the Ducati 848 was introduced there as well. It is a private track owned by the small car company of the same name (I believe).

fuck... that place was sweet! and I'd have to change it... I can't keep anything completely stock for long

Dave 03-07-2008 10:43 PM

lets hear it with a D&D lol

Normally I do swap the exhaust out, but after doing so on several BMW flat twins before, the opened blatty note, while not bad, isn't great either, and rarely is there much of the performance bump... BMW stock exhaust is highly efficient and well tuned. This HP2 Sport has a special gas flap in the can, not only delivering extra torque, but it helps deliver this delicious exhaust note. When it arrives in May I'll confirm from the saddle. :)

Correction... the 848 was introduced at Almeria in Spain, not the Ascari circuit for this HP2 Sport.

Dave 03-07-2008 11:08 PM

i was joking lol, though i think it sounds absolutely badass on my 954, nah how bout a jardine? or maybe a zard? those were the two nastiest sounding ones i could find when i was looking at the daytona 675

so are you just test riding one or buying one? if your buying I'll need your street address and hours you'll be away or asleep... also where the keys are kept would be much preferred.

fnfalman 03-08-2008 10:28 AM

I haven't seen the HP Sport yet but the MegaMoto comes with the Akrapovic exhaust that has removable baffles.

Boxer twins are not known for sweet sounds, so if that's what you're after then you need to get a V-twin and not a flat twin.

Placed a deposit last October. Arrival planned for May. Trading the thing below, which is divine in its own right. Tell you what, next time I'm in Seoul on business I'll air freight the bike with me so you can take it for a spin in the area.

Oh, you could probably fine one in the States for about $14K. BMW NA no longer imports them into the country. There aren't many here, but I kinda like that. Can hang with anything. Friend of mine raced it in the local MRA GTO Supertwins series against a horde of 1098's, 999's and Milles. Led most of the season but ended up coming in second. Not bad for this aircooled things.

I think you need to start a thread with lots and lots of pictures!

and ok... 14K is only about 6k outside my budget  plus it's more bike than I need right now... but god damn it looks sexy as fuck!
