Thinking of exploring the many small, local rivers and lakes this spring and summer. I've never climbed aboard a kayak of any kind and don't know anything about them. I have minimal canoe experience, but the kayak appears lighter, more maneuverable, and easier to transport.

Thomas Magnum was once stalked by a shark in a kayak.

Magnum was in the kayak, not the shark.

I don't remember all the details of the episode, but I would recommend a hearty mustache during any and all kayak outings.

I take it this wasnt the best place to ask about kayaks.

I'm 35 years old and still can't grow a proper mustache.
