Those are GRAND cherokee's. And yes, they are.

the Cherokee's are not. They were bulletproof beaters, and got discontinued.

Trip 07-01-2012 07:25 PM

They all are still gay. Nothing says high school douchebag like a cherokee.

TommyHotWheel 07-01-2012 11:36 PM

My neighbors Cherokee...far from gay.

Yeah, I've seen some pretty sweet Cherokee based off-road rigs out there.
Sure, most of them are highly modified, but they're still Cherokees

pretty much.....most of them are hand-me-downs from dads who thought they were cool in the 80's, and kept them around "just in case" they ever wanted to go off-road (i.e. never)

Bet it still rattles like a motherfucker when he starts the engine and gets a whine from the transmission

Grrrr. I'm a Cherokee Chief, not a Grand Cherokee. I don't go very fast, but I go slow very good. I've winched out way more other stuck vehicles than I've had to winch out myself.

Gas Man 07-03-2012 05:45 PM

That's a sweet truck NW

That is back when a jeep was a JEEP

Kick ass.

That doesn't count, that is old and awesome, it's not the high school douche gen.

Yep the douche gen began when they put those gold lace wheels on it, in the mid-80's I think. All of a sudden people started thinking they were pimp rides.

Jeep is just like Harley. You over pay for the name.

Adeptus_Minor 07-04-2012 09:08 AM

Ok, fine, the original bit was about the Prius... but it still made me think of:

More like this, these were the original gold honeycombs

Trip 07-04-2012 12:33 PM

yep, those are the worst, I associate the grand cherokee's above with soccer moms.

Porkchop 07-04-2012 12:59 PM

A family friend has the SRT8 grand cherokee. I enjoyed his 300c SRT8 better, but its still a badass engine...

Not at all. I beat the ever-lovin fuck outta mine. I rolled it 3 times one day in sand and no damage except a creased fender. When I sold my 91 wrangler it had 179,000 on the 4.0 H.O. 5spd, $700, the dude bought it for parts for a frame he had in his garage. He has been driving it every day since 2007 and it now has over 220,000 miles and the only thing he changed was junkyard doors, because his kid opened one as he was backing out of his garage. Most Jeeps kept well, and older ones that sometimes arent, are tanks.

You're one of the very very very few then.

We have a chuckle over on our samurai forum on how much cheaper it is to fully build ours compared to a jeep. I honestly wouldn't mind a Rubicon with e-lockers but I'll never pay their price.
