Open Dirt Riding Areas In Texas

Does anyone know if there are any open dirt riding areas in Texas? We're looking for someplace that we can take the trailer and our Quad, park and just go out and ride in the wilderness.

As a kid, we used to do that all the time in So. California but that was long before the Green Stickie thing and the desert tortoise concerns.

It can be a primative without showers, toilets and water etc. We're just looking for some open land with hills or woods and relaxation.

i may be wrong, but i've heard a rumor going around that texas is approximately as big as a medium sized country... and you're having trouble finding places to go?

It's illegal to ride in a lot of spots.

Mike, the closest to Austin is http://www.hiddenfallsadventurepark.com/ It's Boulder Creek - renamed. Located on 1431 close to Marble Falls.

Thanks Moira and Lucky. Hidden Ranch looks like a good spot to try. As many times as I've ridden out that way I don't recall seeing a sign or posting for that RV Park.
