Anyone out there?

Heading to Des Moines for the next couple weeks for guard duty (I'll be at Camp Dodge) Wondering if anyone is close by, as I'll have my Buell with me.

I'll be there Saturday through the 13th.

When you look at a map of Iowa, the roads look very straight. Best bet would be to look for secondary roads along some of the rivers.

Yeah. thats the once nice thing about these military schools. I get a decent amount of evening time off so i can go out and get lost, then find my way back again.

As for here... I don't fit in. there are a LOT of sportbikers here, but I've only seen 3 wearing helmets and that's IT for gear. :no:

I'll be on an Alaskan cruise the week of the 4th. Is that when you're going to be around?

We're going somewhere in KS over the 4th. Not sure of the route we're taking, when we'll be where or anything as of yet. Tenatively we are riding the bikes...

I know the feeling. I found a good group of guys, but they're all 40-50 miles east. And of course, on our ride yesterday, some genius shows up in chaps and vest with a mohawk and no lid. Needless to say, he and his buddies didn't stick around for the twisties.

If thats the case, those fuckin rednecks in west virginia must have gotten confused. I dont think there is a mile of straight road in the state, interstate or not.

I don't think the 15 passenger van would have enjoyed the twisties on the way to CO to go skiing.

Kansas does suck a fatty. That 500 miles of I 70 is boring as fuck. But when you are trying to get somewhere, your better off stayin on the interstate..

yeah, may have to take more time off and find some backroads... otherwise it could get old.

Good idea, some of the best trips I have taken were two lane state highways
