Moving to Temple, TX

My wife, son, and I will be moving to Temple/Killeen, TX on January 26th.
I just accepted a job with Lock Joint Tube and will be starting on Feb. 1.

My wife grew up in Austin and her sister currently lives their and her father lives in San Antonio.

It's going to be strange moving to a new place where I don't know anyone, but I'll get there. I am a people person so it shouldn't be hard to make more friends.

I just sold my bike, but will be getting another soon to replace my ragged out SV.

My name is Justin, my wife is Brittany, and our son's name is Anakin. He will be 2 on Feb. 12th.

Hey!! Welcome!

Most of us are in the Austin area - but, there are plenty of people here that are new to the area or not from here. You'll fit right in.

:welcome:

Well Howdy!

Where are you moving from?

Like azoomm said we are mostly all in Austin, but no one is from here.

I still get to be the newest one IN Austin... you can be newest nearby :)

Welcome to the almost-neighborhood!

The unit I'm deployed with is based out of Temple, so I'll be there for a bit when we demobilize, but home is Austin.

Eek I feel for you.

Nothing but highway for miles...

G-Rex 01-18-2010 08:22 PM

I'll be moving to Austin myself in a few months...just as soon as Archren gets back from Iraq...

Hurry up sweetie, will ya ?! :D

Thanks for the post up Nick. I have lived in Knoxville, TN my entire life.

Man, I am going to miss those Friday afternoon rides up to the Gap..aka "Dragon"

We will be spending some time in Austin, that is where my sister-in-law lives.

Welcome! you're about 1-1/2 hours from Austin so it's not that far. Someone else said it best though, nothing but flat roads up there so you'll be forced to head our way for good riding..:)

1-1/2 hours? Yeah, on a bicycle maybe....LOL.

Temple to Austin is 45 minutes, I assure you. Nobody on this board has driven that stretch of I-35 more than me in the last year....Lori isn't feeling well this morning I think. :)

Sweetie, the way YOU drive (90mph+ at midnight) down I-35 it's 45 minutes. The rest of the human race it takes at least an hour.. and if you're going to south Austin, it's an hour and a half. More if you hit rush hour.

The roads around Temple and Killeen are as good as any this side of Kerrville. Riders just keep their mouths shut.

Both areas are flat compared to what the OP used to.
