Wheel off brakes on

So I took my front wheel off today so i can replace the tire, at the same time I changed out the front brakes which had started to squeak a little. Turns out they still had a decent amount of meat on them, better safe than sorry I guess.

Brakes were a bitch I wound up breaking an allen wrench, and I couldnt find a damn 22mm socket for the life of me, I had it, but it was hidden the toolbox wit all my hole saws instead of the metric toolbox.

It was actually quite the sight, I had the bike at chest level, picked up with my engine hoist, back wheel tied to the leg from the hoist

Yep, I'm leaving for China 9/21, coming back 9/25. Hoping to take the following week off and rack up some miles! :)

Under my ass as a seat

So at lunch I went to have the tire mounted. I figured that I would give this little chopper shop down the street from work a shot since they were right there. The guy quoted me $30 for the tire job off the bike, so I drove over, and as soon as I walked through the door he asked if it is a sport bike tire, and I say yep. Then he ups the price to $100, so I ask wtf? and he tells me he has to use a special machine and tools and they are expensive. I'm thinking whats the difference between my rim and all the other non laced MC wheel in the world. Anyway, wound up going back to the same shop I always use.

Lesson learned, my bike holds more oil than a 2 liter bottle can.

What complete and utter bullshit. Even the cheapest Coats manual tire changer, will handle anything between 8 and 23 inches. There are no special tools required to change a sportbike tire.

Fuck that asshole.
