2008 or 2009 Honda 1000rr - Anyone Rode It?

one of my buddys has one, says its an awesome bike, coming from an RC51. says it'll do EVERYTHING he wants a bike to do.

I have ridden an '08 in street and race trim. It is definitely a decent bike. But for the same price (at least here) you can still find left over '08 Gix 1000's. And after having ridden all the liter bikes in both race and street trim, nothing does it for me like the Gix.

Supposed to be a completely different animal

You talking about the Gix? Yeah it was and I have yet to ride one. But the two fastest guys in the NW both ride them and love them. In fact one set a new track record at PIR the last race weekend on it, with a BONE stock motor. But for his price comparo Im still sticking with a leftover '08 Gix

Oh yeah. I didn't pay close enough attention to his post. The '08 and ' 09 CBR are def different bikes entirely. And I have only ridden the new style, not the old.

Check out the August issue of Cycle World. They tested the Aprilia RSV4, Ducati 1198S, Honda CBR1000RR, Kawi ZX10R, KTM RC8R, Suzuki GSX-R1000, and Yamaha R1.

I have a riding buddy that just bought a left over 08 for 8K. He test rode a friends and the bought it saying that it is a tiny feeling bike but super easy to ride fast and more power than he could imagine. Hisother bike is a speed triple...

Homeslice 08-07-2009 08:32 PM

what did they change 08 to 09?

It was. The 08 and 09s are almost identical in every way.

what, the zuk or the honda?

zer0t 08-15-2009 06:57 AM

Get the discount on the 08 1000 because I think it is the identical bike as 09. I test drove it and it seemed great (what can you really learn with the sales guy following you) and every mag gave it great reviews.
