Honda now enters the ADV tourer game

I like it, it's got a very GS look to it. Looks better than the Super Tenere. Plus, I rather Hondas. It's a V4 though. I like the twin torque for off road.

Trip 10-21-2011 09:55 AM

1200, it was a concept in 2010

tached1000rr 10-21-2011 09:56 AM

I like it

OneSickPsycho 10-21-2011 09:58 AM

Damn, that looks exactly like the BMW to me...

Agreed, but most big GS owners don't do much more than gravel roads.

I do a lot of the ADV rallies, (headed to one this afternoon in fact) and it's very rare to see a GS on any of the "dirty" rides.

Yeah, I don't use mine beyond that either.

I don't blame you. That's a lot of bike to be slogging around on single tracks.

I like it. A lot.

Wish they made a smaller CC version though - to AMJ's point, that's a crapload of bike to be throwing around the mud (not that it can't be done, of course)

They do, one based off the 800cc VFR motor in Aussie land though.

Yeah, not in the US. We don't get the good toys here.

All these fancy "ADV" bikes remind me of the SUV boom a few years ago.

You guys are so cutting edge.

It's what is selling. The GS is the best all around bike I have ever ridden. It's fun in the twisties. It's super comfortable. I can tear down fire roads without fear. It's easy to maintain. They are selling them. Everyone is jumping on that bandwagon since the sportbikers aren't buying shit.

I'm happy for the manufacturers.

I hope they are as profitable as the SUV's were to the auto makers.

As soon as I have room, I'm hoping to land one. There's a ton of non-road stuff around here to ride that I'm itching to experience.

I was going to say you must have a lot of good stuff to ride up there. theyre kinda useless to own down in the LI/NYC area since theres virtually no legal off road traisl to ride. Gotta head to NJ or PA for dirt riding.

There's a ton here. And I'm only like 2 hours from the Adirondack Park. Lots of good stuff up there.

I am not sure if theres even a lot up here in the westchester/white plains area. A few guys I know who are avid dirt riders usualy go to PA. I think theres a park out in suffolk county to ride, other than that its alongside th ehighways and in a few semi secluded places and you spend more tim erunning from the cops.
