So you've dropped your bike..

No worries, so have 98% of the rest of us!! :) I have done it twice.

Seriously - it happens. Sometimes it's bad, other times you get lucky - but it happens.

derf 03-18-2009 06:05 PM

sorry lady, but I'm perfect

zed 03-18-2009 08:14 PM

3 times.

njchopper87 03-18-2009 09:48 PM

3 also. I'm lucky the way the foot pegs are designed to work with the bike if it falls over, because otherwise I'd probably be fucked. They never let me fully drop it... yet.

JoJoYZF 03-18-2009 10:00 PM

My buddy dropped it in grass the day I got it. Ive dropped it once at a light when my foot slipped and once turning onto a gravel driveway.

oh, dropped, not crashed/totaled. I've totaled 3 bikes.

foot slipped when learning to ride my first bike. after my ankles were messed up I dropped a bike loading it onto the lift at work, didn't matter because it was fur covered and pretty much screwed up but I was replacing all the messed up parts on the bike already and I didn't damage anything that wasn't already damaged. still didn't feel good about it though.

My husband dropped mine. :tt:

t-homo 03-19-2009 01:13 AM

Not yet.

Quick281 03-19-2009 01:55 AM

Buddy of mine dropped it, then I have dropped it twice to far.

All I can say is that my Woodcraft frame sliders saved me on damage every time and that you can just turn the bar ends around so the scratches aren't visible.

Rider 03-19-2009 09:00 AM

I've never dropped any of my bikes.

Mr Lefty 03-19-2009 09:07 AM

I dropped my zzr a few times... Snow and sloped driveways suck.

jtemple 03-19-2009 09:43 AM

I dropped mine in the garage once. Thanks to the sliders, you wouldn't even know it was dropped unless I pointed out the two scuffs to you.

Ninjakel 03-19-2009 10:31 AM

Yep, i have dropped every one of my bikes at least once. It happens.

Ouch.

I never dropped the used $600 Honda Rebel that was my first bike. When I bought my nice new VFR I promptly dropped it one week later...

Particle Man 03-20-2009 04:59 PM

dropped in mud once, no damage.

knocked over by someone's freakin' little rug rat, busted clutch lever, front turn signal, bar end weight, and shifter.

jalaan1 03-20-2009 05:55 PM

1 crash, 2 drops, only been riding for about 2 seasons.
hopefully it's all out of my system now.:idk:

Sanchez 03-20-2009 05:58 PM

I've had some pretty embarrassing drops. Once I stepped off my bike and forgot to put the kickstand down.

3 weeks after I bought my Ulysses, I dropped it in a parking lot trying to u-turn. I rode back to Atlanta from North Carolina like this:

Another time, I stopped on a steep slope with my bike perpendicular to the hill. When I went to put my downhill foot on the ground, there was nothing under it, and I fell right over. To add insult to injury, I couldn't lift the bike by myself with it pointed down the hill.

KSGregman 03-22-2009 09:13 PM

1 wreck....no drops. *knock on wood* :lmao:

LoVei2ide 03-26-2009 02:39 AM

dropped once randomly in a parking lot.. slid once trying to keep up with my dad when I first got the bike (he was on an fz1)

Homeslice 03-26-2009 05:50 PM

3 crashes and probably 12 drops over the last 7 yrs.

pickle.of.doom 03-27-2009 12:21 AM

This guy in my class got a job as a porter at an HD dealership. 20 minutes into his first day he was pushing a bike around, it was so heavy that he actually broke his shoulder socket pushing on it, and then of course dropped it :D

Mr Lefty 03-27-2009 08:13 AM

well either my neighbor or the wind... dropped my bike last night... fuckers... minor scratch on the tail... and scratched up bar end... otherwise good...

I'll take a better look and maybe some pics tonight after work.

Hey woman. My husband dropped my bike Sunday. :panic: He had backed it out to get to his bike. Lucky for him it was against the far side of the garage so it didn't go all the way down. No damage! :)

racedoll 04-22-2009 10:49 PM

My husband backed into me and down we went. Broke my right foot peg and scratched up the stickers, a little on the plastic.

I dropped it once at my Mom's work, but picked it up no problem. I actually caught it, but couldn't hold it so I gently let her down so there was virtually no scuffs from that incident.

unknownroad 04-24-2009 11:31 AM

Note to self: shorten the kickstand on the chopper :zowned:

Sorry buddy, but that was prior to my ownership of the bike

Riceaholic 05-06-2009 02:25 AM

I've wrecked 3 of mine and dumped one off a lift. I was more pissed about tripping on the air hose that crashing any of the other ones....
