O lord.....

Well, I'm more or less the "helmet guy" but I'll need to know, size (in cm), preferred color, brand preferences (if any).... Depending on your size, I've seen some awesome deals recently on lids but let's narrow it down....

where abouts do you live, look for a store called cycle gear in your area, large corp. store w/ decent inventory.

Scorpion lids seem to have a good rep.

Sixxxxer 02-25-2012 07:59 PM

I love my scorpion...And there is a few sites that have them for 100$ or less

JoJoYZF 02-26-2012 05:01 PM

Best bet is to go to a place like cycle gear or at least a store that carries a decent amount of gear and try them on. I found one that fit my head the best and then found a great deal on that exact helmet on line for about $200 off of one that was brand new and a current model.

i have nothing around me that carries anything more than like 4 helmets.

For service yea. Gear and parts ain't bad

playtowinthegame 02-27-2012 01:20 AM

a local place wants 50 to mount and balance my tire with the wheel still on. 25 if i take it off for them.
1.) is that a good deal? and
2.) is taking the back wheel off something i can do myself?

RACER X 02-27-2012 08:15 AM

sounds about right, if you have to ask, then i'd stay away from it.

ask the shop if you can watch and learn

you'll also need a rear stand, to take the back wheel off, and a ft stand if you're going to take the ft wheel off.

playtowinthegame 02-27-2012 03:22 PM

u have some animosity towards that shop. what did they do to u? lol

He was implying that "if you have to ask" if removing the rear wheel is something you can do, then you should "stay away from it." I have to agree, mainly because if you don't get the alignment right, bad things can happen. I second the idea of asking the shop if you can hang around and watch. And yes, the price sounds about right.

playtowinthegame 02-28-2012 06:02 PM

yes i got that. makes sense. not like riding a bicycle lol. my life is at stake here.

tommymac 02-28-2012 06:16 PM

if youre not too far from LI you can stop by my place and I can swap the tires. I have my own changer and th etools and stands. Once yo usee the wheels removed once or twice its prety easy.
