Octane

Do you run what are you are supposed to run (or higher)? Or do you cheap out and run something with a lower rating? Or maybe is doesn't matter to you?

87. Anything higher is too hot.

Gotta love a 30 yr. old bike. :)

What the owners manual states.

87 in the EX500
91 in the 600rr

You actually have 91 available at the gas pump?

Sometimes you can find that here, but mostly is is 87-89-92 or 93.

Racedoll, its all the same. I moved from one town and the lowerst was 87, now here its 86. Its all in the same tanker.

Viffer runs 87 cause thats what honda told me to run while they had the gun to my head.

tached1000rr 11-22-2009 07:53 PM

93 octane in the 1000rr

89 in the F4I, unless I'm filling them up at same time then it gets 93 too since I don't want to start/restart the pump, but mainly it has a mix of 89 and 93 most of the time given when it gets gas.

91 here.

Regular in mine

Running higher than what the owner's manual specifies can actually REDUCE power.
