The Hawk.

as promised, pictures of my new project beater. like i said shes a mess but we'll see how bad things are when i roll her into the garage tonight and start fiddling. cant wait to get this thing going, pretty sure if honda didnt change their ignition switches too much between 82 and 88 i ought to be able to hotwire it pretty easily. after that we'll see about spark and maybe a start :tremble: gotta take it completely apart anyway so its no big if it wont. anyway:

Might want to air up that front tire.

all dry rotted out. Needs new rubbers for sure. Gonna attempt an air up before we pull it out

I never knew they were a 45 degree twin.

Are you sure that is a hawk and not an eagle?;)

Very cool.

I had a hawk track bike about 6 years ago and LOVED it. It's the main reason I have my SV. What are your plans? F3 front end? VFR rear wheel? Keep us updated :rockwoot:

If you're keepin that front end, you might be wise to check that front rotor. from where I'm sitting it looks worn as hell. sweet bike though.

I've used those Metzeler Laser tires for almost two decades on my GS1000. After reading about bias-ply tires on the GS Resources site, I ordered Pirelli Sport Demons. They just came here yesterday, but the guy who mounts them for me won't mount 'em unless I use new tubes. I have to get them tomorrow.

I used to use Pirelli Demons on my RD350, they are great tires on older bikes.
