for all you know your bike MIGHT have done this. But are YOU up for the challenge... all we need is a delorean with a trailer capable of 88mph.

Have you? I seem to remember it was a stuck float

Porkchop 05-29-2011 01:01 AM

2 stuck float valves, 1 clogged jet i believe. Bike ran good until I went out one day and it wouldnt start. Took the battery to autozone and it was only pushing like 58 CCA. I believe the term the employee used was "super dead". :lol

That was tuesday. Work and school have not allowed me to get a new juice box to put in her. Maybe monday?

A dealer around here put a package together for me the other day though, for this SUPER CLEAN 1996 CBR F3. Only had like 10k miles. Everything was stock except for the Akrapovic pipe. They would take a grand plus my bike as down payment, and really cheap payments for 24 months. I really considered it, but they were asking way too much for the F3, and they were only giving me $532 for my VF. I almost did it.

Naw, that one is super clean, it could fetch up to $2500, but yeh$2k is a good base price for those.

Also, $500 for your bike? no way in hell, your 500 is easily worth 3x that amount, in fact almost no bike that starts easily and runs on the first kick should be worth less than $1000

My though.... I am not sure what they were officially asking. I didnt go in to negotiate because I decided it wasn't worth it. And it might strap me financially.

Thank you. That was really the deciding factor. Even in rough shape, these things have scary cult like following. A ton of people love them, and I see why. Even some schmook on craigslist would probably pay $1200-15 for a rough one that is running. Too bad the paint isnt original...
