You're posting so that's a good sign. Sorry to see your buggy on it's side, totaled or just "tweaked" ?

You couldn't pay me to drive one of those shit boxes. My neighbor was in an accident in one, similar driving conditions, and ended up paralyzed from the neck down. May as well have been a death sentence. She had a husband and 3 young kids that couldn't understand why she wouldn't play with them anymore.

Just be glad you're still whole, and get something less famous for single vehicle accidents next time.

Would have had the same fate if I was in a jeep on how it happened. Same thing happened to a 1 ton pickup up the highway from me.

Pretty much totaled. Engine also filled with oil and sounds like a busted piston rod.

the chi 02-09-2014 09:39 AM

Good heavens dude, glad you are okay!

Archren 02-09-2014 12:56 PM

Holy shit toast, dude, glad you made it out in one piece, even if your ride didn't.

Rangerscott 02-09-2014 02:58 PM

Im fine. Was just a tad sore but I did not bounce around. I stayed center in my chinese bucket seat. LOL. I dangelled for a few and was lucky to be able to undo my seat belt and not have to fiddle with getting my knife out. Glad it did since the engine was still running. Sadly I couldnt turn the engine off and it locked up with the cylinders full of oil.

Blew it all out yesterday and it sounds like a rod snapped so less money to make off her now. I put a good amount of time and money into that engine. Only takes a few seconds to lose it.

That shit box has gotten me through life the past 13 years and my older brother, so a total of 19 years. Ive made more friends by just owning it than by doing any thing else and a lot of them would treat me like family if I really called for their help.

Papa_Complex 02-09-2014 09:10 PM

Damn, that sucks. Did you hit a patch of ice?

Rangerscott 02-09-2014 09:33 PM

The whole interstate was ice. Rearend just finally gave out and I slid sideways. Both tires hit the dirt and over I went.

Trip 02-10-2014 07:36 AM

Damn, glad you are ok and able to post.

Gas Man 02-12-2014 12:13 PM

They dont pour billions lbs of salt here. Youre on your own.

Gas Man 02-13-2014 11:35 AM

Yeah well when we got 16" of snow and -15* the salt don't do shit anyway.

Rangerscott 02-13-2014 02:33 PM

Ill take snow over ice any day.

Gas Man 02-14-2014 08:29 AM

Oh for sure!!! But they are one in the same at negative temps!

Papa_Complex 02-14-2014 02:35 PM

I finally got my own car back, after getting the repairs done.

Rangerscott 03-08-2014 08:23 PM

Found a '99 S10 for cheap. Went to this new salvage yard and got a grille guard for $27. LOL. Dirt cheap stuff there. Also got a gauge cluster with tach and all the cruise control stuff for $40ish. Also found a fiberglass flat bed cover for $100. Getting 25-27mpg so thats good since gas is holding high.

Particle Man 03-18-2014 07:47 AM

Dayum. I missed this thread before. Holy shit.

racedoll 03-22-2014 09:42 AM

Better late than never, glad you are ok.

Rangerscott 05-22-2015 10:39 PM

Well. Sold my baby today. Could have gotten so much more if she wasn't crushed.
