Richa Gear

This is some new fangled gear one of my local friends told me about. He started carrying it as one of the first people in the USA to sell it.

It's made by a company called Richa and it's pretty bad ass shit. It's got a "change membrane" shell. The fabric sorta opens up when it's hot out to act as a mesh jacket and closes when it's cold to keep you nice a toasty. It also is waterproof, so no fucking with liners to keep you dry. Think totally badass version of the aerostitch suit, but not as ungodly hot in the summer.

It's in their spirit gear

It's kinda pricey, but from talking to Francois, it's bad ass gear. This will be my next suit for sure.

If you are interested in it, give Megan or Francois a call. They run Dual Sport Touring in Friendsville just down the road from me. You can get their number from their website http://www.dualsporttouring.com

You'll have to ask Homeslice.

I just wanted to say it first. :sorry:

Richa Gear? Do they have the Officer and a Gentleman line for guys, and Pretty Woman for the ladies?

(it does sound pretty badass, actually)

Actually, last month there was talk about BMW filing a suit against them for that. They have a few riding suits that have a fabric that does that. I think it's a matter of claiming whether it's BMW's fabric or not. Legal-mumbo-jumbo....

Richa has actually been around for quite a while."We" looked into importing it back in 2002, but it was so expensive we had to pass. I just couldn't see too many people dropping five bills+, on a textile jacket.

Then again Klim, who also make some badass gear, have a new jacket that goes for $900 retail...

Yeah, I doubt that's going to fly, unless BMW had an exclusivity agreement with
Schoeller, (who actually make the fabric in question).

Hey man, I just report the rumors. What fun is there in truth?

Trip 11-04-2011 12:38 PM

What BMW gear uses the schoeller fabric, I know the older rallye suit don't. Without the liner, they are just a big wet glob...

askmrjesus 11-04-2011 01:57 PM

From Schoeller's site:

Areas of use:

You will find innovations with c_change™ from Schoeller for example by Alex Thomson Racing Team / Hugo Boss, Ammonit, BMW Motorrad, Canada Goose, Frauenschuh, Holden, Mammut Sports Group, Vodafone Mc Laren Mercedes/ Hugo Boss and Westcomb.

I haven't kept up with BMW gear, but I know they've used/use it somewhere.

I know they have used it in liners (ComforTemp) stuff. I haven't seen something as true waterproof without liner jacket from them though in the same league as this one, but I haven't kept up with their new gear.

StreetGuard 3 Suit
Comfort Shell Suit
Coverall Suit
Airflow also has it in parts.

Wish I had more funding to drop on something like that but too rich for me

Gas Man 11-06-2011 10:17 PM

What's the cost?
