Adeptus_Minor 09-08-2012 09:39 PM

Oh, are they all local? redflip (sorry, someone was going to have to say it)

Not sure I could be around exotics like that. I find it unhealthy to get myself lusting after things that cost that much.

RACER X 09-08-2012 09:56 PM

orange one was built in Austin, local to you, though it resides in houston, lol

friend also has

2005 SC/TT/NOS Ford GT 1178 rwhp 1020 tq 226.2mph at Oct 2009 Texas Mile.

Carolina 09-09-2012 12:47 AM

Very. Cool

Gas Man 09-09-2012 03:25 PM

I hate you.

fasternyou929 09-09-2012 09:15 PM

What, no detailed picture of the 3rd gen F-body Camaro? What Carhart wearing mullet-head decided to modify THAT car for performance?

Homeslice 09-09-2012 11:20 PM

Nice engine work, but every time I see black rims I throw up a little. They remind me of what 19 year olds used to put on their 1999 Integras. Regular silver rims are much classier and expensive looking.

Cutty72 09-09-2012 11:36 PM

So you're saying there is some spare cash lying around in TX. Holy hell $8k for a fucking DOOR PANEL!

RIGHT, nothing says cheap like black rims on a ~$250k car , let alone the unseen 2x turbo/engine/tranny build that cost another $180k

they were 3 piece wheels of course, orange had same manuf. diff style wheels, black too.

his list of cars

Now see, that Camaro looks better than the Lambos, because of its silver wheels.

Black wheels remind of of years ago when cars didn't have alloys --- They had black steelies with hubcaps, and when the hubcaps fell off, that's what they looked like. Shit. redflip

Only time black wheels might look good is on a gray car, IMO.

I've seen you make this comment before... I disagree. Black wheels on some rides looks damn good...

Gray rides..... they can look good

Orange rides, like that Lambo.......make it look like Halloween candy

White rides, they make it look like a cop car with black steelies...

Black rides.....You can't even see the car anymore

Heh, I think the first time you made the comment I was talking about blacking out my rims... on my grey truck.

Would look good, because gray and black together look tuff & austere, like it was some kind of field truck or military truck or something....

But in most other situations, black rims scream teenager to me....

Cutty72 09-14-2012 08:50 PM

Def depends on the vehicle. I'm looking at a set of flat black for my pickup eventually. Trying to eliminate all chrome. Chrome is shiney, and scares away the animals I am trying to get to come closer.

RACER X 09-15-2012 11:35 AM

Cuz a big mechanized thing making odd sounds thru the woods wouldn't scare them off, lol

Sean 09-15-2012 11:44 AM

Can any of them turn or are they all just drag cars?

RACER X 09-15-2012 12:00 PM

sure they can turn if you tenderfoot the gas

the stock gallardo/super legerra is no slouch cornering wise

just 3x the hp of a stock one, lol

he likes top speed, you like corners, i like both

I work in a sketchy area. It screams ghetto to me on any normal car. But not on a 200k car...

My buddy has a new black Charger R/T police edition that came with the black police wheels. The thing came blacked out including 0 tint limo windows. Suuuper illegal. When he decided to do bigger rims he was going to do black. "murdered out" style. I talked him out of it and he went with gunmetal SRT8 rims. Looks real good.

I like that you threw that out there.
People with powerful cars always brag about their 1/4 mile ET's but I've always thought that was hardly the ultimate measurement of a fast car.

RACER X 09-19-2012 11:39 AM

another for 'slice

Homeslice 09-19-2012 01:53 PM

Eh no thanks.......the "murdered out" look is so 2004, imo

Sick rides Ed!

Still...as much as I HATE the bodystyle, the Camaro in the garage of the guy you bought the busa from was super tight!

Dan's gonna rag me to death, but I'd rock a mullet and a '79 foosed out trans am in heatbeat :rockwoot:

When it's parked in an approach 1/4 to 1/2 mile from where my decoys are set up it's not running, so no noise, but shiney chrome will catch the eye of a game bird, and often make them avoid the area.

There are cars that if I owned I'd rock the part out no matter what. A 79 Trans-am would be one of them. 74 Dodge Monaco is getting me in a suit, glasses, and hat. Or a 1930s cafe racer, I'm rocking a leather helmet and stripped jacket.

Anxiously waiting for Homeslice's verdict.
:tremble:

Homeslice 09-24-2012 11:59 PM

Oh I thought it was just your truck, but now you had to put them on the bimmer as well!

Lmao

Pic isn't clear enough to tell whether those are black or anthracite or......

But anyways, as I said before, dark wheels can look good on gray cars, like yours.

The truck though? Fail :p

And, the bikes.

Turns out, I mod my vehicles for what we like. Not someone else. Weird, I know.

Oh, the BMW and miata are track cars. I pulled the silver M wheels and replaced them with these because I won't care about f'ing these up. I wanted the bright orange ones, but those were on back order.

You read it wrong.

Look at Ed's post. It builds boost "QUICKLER".

It's a very secretive street racing technique, usually only discussed amongst rich guys and their fat asian friends.

Homeslice 10-26-2012 02:38 PM

Maybe he meant that because it's stronger, people are willing to abuse it when they launch it? lol

RACER X 10-26-2012 03:18 PM

yeah it'll be stronger, i guess it'll decrease mass in the tranny letting the engine spool up faster, which will build boost quicker.

Stronger, I'll buy. Lighter (non rotating) parts, I'll remain skeptical.

Sean 10-26-2012 07:35 PM

IT's probably a lighter flywheel, which will allow revs to build quicker. I doubt it'd have that much of an effect on boost though.
