La Marque police have released name of the Lufkin man who drove a million-dollar car into a saltwater lagoon, blaming a low flying pelican for the distraction.
Andy House was driving along an I-45 feeder when he lost control of the 2006 Bugatti Veyron EB, according to police records. The car, which tops out at 253 mph, is believed to be one of only 15 in the United States. He purchased the French-made car, carrying a $1.25 million price tag, from a Jonesboro, Ark., dealer last month, according to previous reports.
House owns Performance Auto Sales in Lufkin. Attempts to contact House on Thursday and Friday morning were unsuccessful

Yeah, and I also heard from a good friend of the owner that he he had it insured for 2 Million dollars. This guy builds
cars like this that he gets from salvage. I know this one
was almost new, but I also know of this guy and know of his
past and I sure wouldnt want to be the one to insure a car
worth more than a million dollars for him. He is not exactly know for being a reputable business man either. I also heard
that he was kinda in a crunch for money with the economy
like it is lately. Now you know, "the rest of the story"...
so go figure....
