I did a mission just like that around this time in 1970. Instead of Blackhawks, we used Hueys. And it was in Vietnam as we weren't authorized to go into Cambodia
. We wore less armor, but the mud, heat, and humidity were similar. The outcome was a lot different. That mission is a whole chapter in the book I'm writing.
