I have an '01 Cherokee. 2" Rubicon lift (RE5150) with 31" tires. Still rides nice, better visability and the 31" tires didn't require changing the gear ratios in both rears
Search "Jeff in PA" on JeepForum.com and I have detailed instructions for doing the lift. Also, if it's a '99 or later, you have to do a transfer case drop to keep the driveline vibes away. I have a picture with dimensions showing how to make them using 1" x 2" tubing.
