After going through Yosemite, I would bypass SF and head up to Red Bluff. Take Highway 36 to Ferndale and then up to the redwoods. It's the best road in northern CA. As for Pikes Peak, I would much rather ride up Mount Evans.

I want to see San Fran and Pikes Peak, I am being a tourist this trip.
