I have the 2012.

Worth.every.penny.

It's great on pavement, and ok on dirt roads. Go talk to your local dealer. DucatiNA has a pretty good demo program to their dealers right now. Ride on, decide for yourself.

My Duc dealer won't let tests for shit. It pisses me off to no end. How am I supposed to decide between 3 completely different bikes without riding them....

Any idea on the schedule for a demo circuit???

Yeah.. I was under the impression that I wouldn't be able to ride.. Was going to go to the guy in Oakdale, NY.. doubt he'll let rides.. I bought my 09 busa from there and he wouldn't let me take it out..

Same deal when I was trying to decided between the 696, 796, F800R, and Street Triple. I literally had to sit on them and decide. A great deal and finances ended up leading me in the right direction. But fundamentally, its bad for business.

I wish it was like the UK where you can basically ride everything as long as you have the right license level and full insurance.

If we had stepped licensing like the UK, that could work.
Just think about all those new riders that want to be cool and ride a Duc, but have no idea how to handle it!
I get your complaints, and agree there should be a way to test ride bikes, but I get the dealership side of it too, lots of liability.

Guess they figure people will still buy motorcycles without riding them. And they get the added benefit of not having to pay for expensive insurance.

If you want a sportbike, or adventure... yes, you will buy it w/o test ride as that is the only option.

Only bikes I've gotten test rides on without the aid of a demo day are Triumph's, Buell's, and HD's,
