I can't imagine calling the FD to let you in your locked house will be "free".

It shouldn't be.

There should be a large fee for calling emergency services for non-emergent cases.

There is here.

Fire departments here wouldn't waist money on gas for something so trivial.

You guys were lucky.

don't know about waste, we pay a whopping $12 (sarcasm) a mos. and have never used any emergency services.

+ they were in no emergancy, they were sitting around the firehouse watching TV, i don't expect them to come if they're figting a fire somewhere. they're 3.7 mi away. + they advertise the service

as for the rest, dunno about ya'll but when i'm around the house i don't carry keys around. we were outside most of the day hanging w/ the neighbors, and at the time i had walked across the street to lend a neighbor a tool. you'd carry your keys across the street?

cheez i posted this on a local forum and everybody was laughin and callin me a dumbass, here it's all criticism.

Why would you leave a 3.5 year old alone in a big scary house?

I just posted that because I felt there wasn't enough criticism. Lol

Alee did that to me once. She's also locked my mom out of her house before, and she had to go in through the garage. Occupational hazard with pre-schoolers...

Hell your mom locked us out of the house once!

Going in through the garage in the middle of the night *before* I straightened it up was an experience.

You're the first person to jump into most threads and put someone down so what did you expect?

I'm with CBRchick. I wouldn't even think of calling them.

I have my car keys separate but also have a hidden key so it would never really be an issue. My neighbours also have keys.

we charge about 700 bucks for helping someone get back into bed so i can imagine a lockout service will be pretty expensive
