Would the shock from an 07 gsxr 750 be of any help? I will be happy to unload mine once I install the ohlins.

I put a ZX10 shock on my 1st gen SV............but, as I recall it was from an 04-05

Yeah, I've got a 2nd gen. The 06-07 is a better fit. The cylinder is at 90 degrees rather than the 45 degree on the 04-05. Requires no cutting the battery box

ontwo, did you figure out if the 750 shock would fit? eventually I would like to upgrade the suspension on the SV, with minimal cost and effort.

I'm pretty sure you will have to cut the battery box. Not sure if you will have to put a shorter battery in, but I will keep looking and let you know.
