I'm just going to tell any prospective employer I've already paid for the trip when I had a job and there's no refunds. I'm hoping that'll work.

Typically as long as you are up front and clear that at such n such time you will be out of town on a pre employment planned trip, employers dont blink an eye. Ive done it several times over the years, for family events, twf rally etc. Make sure they acknowledge it in writing tho...

That's good to know. I've never had anything pre planned before getting a job because I've always had a job...
