You do. The cyllinder heads actually have sliders on them. There is a good write up about the HP2 in pretty much every motorcycle magazine this month.

They say that in most cases, the riders knee will scrape before the cyllinder head. However there are sliders just incase. BMW had 4 HP2's running in the Daytona 200. They kicked butt. The riders were taking corners even lower and faster then alot of the 600cc riders.

No tape. We have pics of the HP2 in Nee's bike week pics, but none of the race itself.

I actually just checked AMA's site to be sure and a BMW HP2 finished 5th and 6th in the race. So thats pretty impressive. I knew they were in the top 10, but I wasn't sure where. But 5th and 6th for a new bike is pretty damn good.

I've never been a big fan of BMW bikes but I do like that one. I wouldn't pay $25k for it though.

Yup. Larry Pegram on the new 848 finished 3rd. Actually he was 4th, but when Josh Hayes was DQ'd everyone else moved up 1 place.

I do agree there. For $25k, you could go buy any 600cc sportbike and do some serious track mods to it and have money left over for track days.

However a used one in a few years might be a good buy
