Really glad I don't have to deploy there anymore. I was there several times in 03-04, and it didn't seem like the nicest place although it wasn't nearly as bad as anywhere in say, the middle east. Sort of a burned out Detroit kind of vibe. The government fell during one of my trips and we had to walk around in full-on rattle gear, which made it fun to fix jets. Too bad, because there's beautiful country over there, lots of skiing and lakes. Plus hot russian chick are fairly common.
