Default In honor of Natasha Louis

Wow... first thread in here. That can only be a good thing.

I am sure you have all heard by now, but Tasha passed away at Jennings last weekend after a freak accident. There is a massive celebration of her life that will take place on Sunday at the New Jersey Motorsports Park, with a parade lap in her honor at 2:30.

From Tasha's FB...

Quote:
"This Sunday, at 2:30 PM, those of you unable to attend Natasha Louis's memorial service, please join me in a moment of non-silence: Ride or rev your bike at 2:30 PM. This will coincide with the parade lap in her honor at New Jersey Motorsports Park at that time. Thanks, Anthony Degreif, for the suggestion."
I have some Hello Kitty duct tape on the way so I will be flying Tasha's colors for Sunday's ride. I hope anyone who is out riding will enjoy their own moment of non-silence in celebration of Tasha's life.

Not sure if most of this board knew her, she wasnt a member here. You may want to post up the story for those who havent read about it yet. Rip Tasha. Just another reminder you are taking a risk riding no matter if you ride track or street.

Yeah... I know she wasnt on here. But there has been so much chatter and networking among the various forums I figured most folks had at least heard about it. Didnt want to dwell too much on what might already be known. But you are right, a little explantion is called for. Though I dont really want to here goes...

Tasha was control riding for Absolute Cycle Experience last weekend at Jennings GP. On Saturday, after lunch, she lowsided in T8. Two bikes were directly behind her, the first one avoided her but from what I gather the second one couldnt see around the first one and had no time to react once he realized what was happening. Depending on who is telling the story she was either struck directly by the other bike or got tangled up in between hers and the second one. She was unresponsive at the track, was airlifted out, but did not survive. In talking to her SO, I understand that it seems she actually died instantly.

Tasha was well known and loved throughout the motorcycling community and her passing is a great loss for all of us.

Didn't know the details, definitely has to be hard for all parties involved. That's how we lost Bill (101lifts) last year, one of his friends hit him after he went down.

Fugi fixed her bike and finished her lap for her. This is her bike parked in T8 after he did the circle burnout you see there, and his leathers placed in her final resting spot.

Really? God that sucks. You would think these kind of accidents are rare.. but they seem to be happening a lot. There is a pic of Tasha standing wih Supersic when she met him at a motogp. :-(
