I do know when it comes to dirtbikes you'll need more than just the lights and a mirror.

Not only did my lights require a battery, they needed a stronger stator too. Plus it must've been a bitch for the previous owner of my bike to figure out how to not ghetto rig the wiring which he did. I imagine finding a place for all the wires and cables and what have you, must be tough on a bike that's designed to not have any of that.

The plus is, since the brakelight and low-beam don't work on my bike, I'll be ripping all that garbage off and keeping pure offroad.

Maybe Supermoto as a sport of racing is dead or dying, but riding my CRF450R or KTM950SM on the street sure is more fun than riding a sportbike.

It could more of the business that are the US economy and laws, rather than a "dying sport".

Did you know a branch of Honda puts out factory SMs? Similar could be said for other manf. as well.

I think you are right about it not being a popularity issue. I suspect emissions and noise laws have a lot to do with it.

I really like that F450X. I don't like it to the tune of €9,050, but I do like it.

ETA: I like the 125R even more. ~40hp and under 200lbs sounds like a lot of fun.
