Yet, everytime I ride with someone that puts a great deal of distance between us, a fuckin car sneaks in. There is a meathod to the madness at times.

Not around here. They seem to stretch on for miles with just enough space in between that if you want to pass it is nearly impossible Sure does piss me off.
