the thing is that i have to drive to chattanoga to pick up a belt as its the closest one to me and that they are on back order, a chain and sproket is easier to replace and dont have to worry about running out of them in the future...

or just go online, buy 3 or 4 of them and have them for the life of the bike

what year is your bike? the reccommended replacement is 30k, and a guy I work with has 50k on his original belt

Call up Gates in Lansing, MI and see if they can provide the belt. Gates makes the best belts in the world and may even make that belt anyway.

But seriously, newer belts last forever, unless you're putting down too much power or they ingest something (seen this before).

Or be a normal guy and do what Trip said.

The new belts have no service interval. They're "lifetime" belts. They can and do break, but it's a crapshoot as to when it will happen.
