Rossi to Ducati?
|
could be interesting
|
Rossi seems to play every thing close to his chest... so it's odd he'd put this out there like that...

Out of loyalty to Yamaha, this may be his one solid warning before he hits the road. |
I wanna see him on the Duc. Fuck Jorge
|
Ducati is serious about their racing that's sure, have a cult-like customer following so I can see the allure, BUT Stoner is still there and it would seem the same scenario would exist between Rossi and Stoner, that he faces now with Lorenzo.
If Rossi, wants to develop something get his ass on the Kawasaki:lol: |
It's just negotiation. In the end, it's all about the benjamins.

I was thionking the same thing, this is advanced negotiating tactics, making his disspleasure with Yamaha team setup known to negotiate a few extra dollars.
As far as Yamaha is concerned, who do they really want? I think Rossi does have the bigger name, and is an overall more well rounded rider capable of placing n a more consistat basis, even Lorenzo might be faster hes not as good as Rossi, nor does he have as big of a name |
Rossi has always talked about his goal to ride for every mfr. This isn't surprising

I think Lorenzo has gotten on a gravy train, and he should be careful about how he treats the conductors. |
While I think Rossi is by far the best rider, Lorenzo IS the future of Yamaha. How many years does Rossi have left in MotoGP? Let Rossi go, move Spies in to his spot.
|
Troy Bayliss won the WSBK championship at 38 last year. Rossi is 30. He will have a ride in MotoGP as long as he wants to ride.

What about the rumors that Rossi will leave GP all together when his contract is up. It's no secret he wants to race 4 wheels.

Duhamel is 41. Crevier is 45. No reason why he can't continue for another couple of years. |

Rossi has said recently that the car thing is out for a while. He is still focused on two wheels, and I think he would love to retire on an Italian bike. That is a big part of the draw to ride the Duc

He's been dragging that rumor out for the last 6 years. Would you trade worldwide fame and $30m a year to be a contender in DTM? There's no way he would get an F1 ride - he's fast but he hasn't proven he's one of the top 20 fastest drivers in the world.

He'd need AT LEAST 2 more seasons and realistically more like 4 to reach that number. If he decides he doesn't care about that number, he has nothing left to prove. |

There are "records" that he has that will never be reached.
But, he doesn't have all of them, and there will definitely be somebody to come along to challenge his legacy, but the longer he's winning, the longer it will be till that happens. |

Rossi will never surpass Ago unless he wins at Isle of Man.

Even Rossi himself after taking a demo ride around the IOM said that he couldn't figure out how these guys would haul ass on that course citing the dangers involved. |

In the days it was a GP circuit, it was one of many courses on the schedule. To the people racing it now, it's the only course. I'd be willing to bet they get around it better than any GP rider that toyed with the course for a few days per year. |

Drop a multi-time world champ, with 5-6 GREAT years left in him, and make a kid, who's an awesome rider but has never been champ, your #1. Just doesn't make sense. Its not like Rossi is washed up and ready to be put out to pasture, HE WON THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP THE LAST TWO YEARS. If some of you had brains, you'd be dangerous weapons. |

So in conclusion, I agree with your choice to stick with Rossi...He whooped all their asses so far and will continue to do so for years to come... |
