Mom, newborn triplets found dead on floor
Police believe no one in Conn. woman’s family knew she was pregnant
The Associated Press
updated 4:15 a.m. CT, Wed., Feb. 3, 2010

SHELTON, Conn. - A Connecticut woman and her newborn triplets have been found dead at home after she gave birth there.

The Connecticut Post newspaper reported the woman's mother found her and the three baby boys on the floor when she returned Tuesday afternoon to the home in Shelton.

Frances Hope told The Associated Press she didn't know whether her 26-year-old daughter was aware she was pregnant.

Police said it appears no one in the family knew about the woman's pregnancy.

Emergency medical workers who were called to the home found the woman unresponsive. Officials wouldn't reveal her name. They said it appears her triplets were carried full term.

Investigators said the causes of the four deaths are unknown but there were no signs of foul play.

That's just plain sad...

CrazyKell 02-03-2010 09:12 AM

Haven't you ever seen that show "I didn't know I was pregnant?" :idk:

I have NO idea how you could possibly not know something that big was up with your body but....I guess it takes all kinds. The women argue a different point.

the chi 02-03-2010 09:15 AM

Perhaps these women just dont know their own bodies that well. Some of them dont have significant weight gain, but I can imagine any of the other symptoms going unnoticed. This however is just sad.

My wife lost weight throughout her pregnancy, it was still very obvious she was pregnant.

Rider 02-03-2010 01:21 PM

Well to be fair, periods aren't exactly regular and if she got pregnant on a type of birth control that stopped her period she wouldn't know. :idk: Still effed up but...:idk:

I think it's fair to assume she was on the kind of birth control that lets you get pregnant...

If you're a Fertile Myrtle you can get pregnant on anything. Even if you wash your underwear with a guy's underwear. True story. :lmao:

CasterTroy 02-03-2010 02:13 PM

Dang....I'm well aware when I have to take an 8oz. shit....how could you NOT know triplet’s?

BobTheBiker 02-03-2010 02:53 PM

in all honesty, its pretty hard not to know, unless you're totally stupid I'd think. I mean with the things that come with pregnancy, its not like its a subtle thing now.

That's what I said but in a thread in the Pillow Fighting Section some ladies said otherwise. :idk:

The neighbor back home never gained weight for her first 2 kids. If you didn't know she was knocked up, you would never tell by looking at her.

Yup, seen it here a few times at the hospital.

Also how do we know this person was a fattie. Not sure if the article states that or not.

I think its safe to say she was a big fattie to not notice 3 extra babies in your stomach.

Did she think it was just bad gas when the 3 babies are kicking?

Eating too much Chipotle

BobTheBiker 02-04-2010 03:55 AM

in all reality, I'll NEVER comprehend how the HELL people can be pregnant and not realize it. what I think it is, is that they instead know it, but keep it entirely to themselves for whatever reason, and just say they didnt know.

Kaneman 02-04-2010 08:46 AM

That's what I love about a forum man, people will defend anything!!

Look, if you have triplets and you didn't know you were pregnant then you're a fat idiot. Now way around it.

I still want proof on the fat part, but agree on the idiot part. I od wonder if there were any psycho-social issues going on there too?

Agreed.

The force of denial is strong in this one, Obi Wan.

Correction: Was strong.

BobTheBiker 02-04-2010 09:11 AM

no question, some people will lie to themselves to the point where they swear their "truth" is the real world truth.

They're not psycho-social issues dude, they're just crazy and stupid wrapped into one. We need to bring back the anti-PC terms...because they're accurate.

Its like that show hoarders. These people don't have some kind of hoarding disease....they're just fucking nuts.

Nope, our technology has surpassed the power of Darwin in most cases. Forward evolution no longer applies to humans. However, it appears we are "devolving" as we become physically weaker, fatter, whinier and....fatter. I think our minds are also devolving after a period of rapid expansion and innovation in the 1900s.

Darwin lost the fight to the governments long ago.

If we let the sickly and weak go when they should instead of keeping them on life support for years, the money saved could go to help with many other things(scholarships, health care, research, etc).

Probably no reason to quote all the above, other than I was too lazy to go back and unclick multi-quote. Whatever. I was going to say the same thing that Rae, the Chi, the Chia said.

Knew a woman long ago that was 7 months pregnant before she found out she was pregnant. Granted, it was only one kid, and she was big, but I'd be willing to bet she wouldn't have even known with 3 kids. She was big. Did I say that yet? Cause she was big.

I will agree. I think there comes a point when life support shouldn't be used. I can understand using it for a brief period of time, but how many people come off life support and go on to live afterwards? I'm not talking about your normal medical patient that needs life support to get to the hospital and get through surgery, but rather the guy who simply won't live once the plug is pulled, no matter what surgery is done. Why keep those people going?
