A friend of mine, who was in The FFL back in the early '90s, didn't like them much. I can't remember why though.

It had to do with either cleaning, or case eject. Then again it might have just been down to the quality of weapons the FFL had, based on a bunch of misfits using them.

Open gas directly affects cleaning so that may be it. I know how he feels, seems like we're gonna be stuck with 60's era crap for the rest of my natural life

Fortunately he didn't have to mess with them for long. He was over there for 18 months before getting homesick, and taking a voluntary DD to get out. Almost 20 years later and, if he goes back to France, he'll be arrested on sight :lol:
