How long has it been?

Alright, so since a lot of you are suffering from P.M.S. these days, and even we Floridians are suffering from that blasted "winter" thing, let's compare: how long has it been since you've ridden (whether it was a commute, a trip to the store, or an all-day joyride)?

*poll to come*

Not quite two weeks for me. Last time I rode was a big Saturday group ride... ever since, it's been too cold!!!!! :panic:

BobTheBiker 01-23-2009 01:03 PM

Little over a month now. mostly because I'm still rebuilding the motor in my 1000 and its a pain in the ass when you find little details that need ironing out and it just goes wrong.

julie j 01-23-2009 01:09 PM

I rode last Sunday. It was short and sweet but felt nice.

Trip 01-23-2009 01:14 PM

Does riding my 50 count?

JoJoYZF 01-23-2009 01:14 PM

Been a little over two months. I did see someone out on a bmw today and also someone on an r6. Its in the 40s today but with how cold its been it seems really nice out. If it wasnt for me not having any time I would have considered riding too.

papapoi 01-23-2009 01:20 PM

Last Saturday 11:00 pm :P

No Worries 01-23-2009 01:47 PM

Yesterday. We had a full week of great weather, and I rode on six of the seven days. Rode solo several times and once with my friend Dean and his GSX-R1000, and with Neal and his new 650 V-Strom. I also got invited on a Ducati run next Sunday, but I don't think the weather will be good.

It was in the 60's, and we broke a record with 71 degrees on Wednesday. That's all moving east while snow will be moving in tonight. It was good while it lasted.

rogue 01-23-2009 01:53 PM

I just got off my bike. I came home & forgot something so I'm going back out again in a few. :D

MILK 01-23-2009 01:56 PM

I could have ridden to work today if my dogs didn't need food! Stupid dogs needing to eat!! :lmao:

New Years day for a couple of hours. Froze my butt off!

thirdgenlxi 01-23-2009 06:07 PM

It's been about.... 20 minutes now  F**k winter... I ride everyday! :dthumb:

tached1000rr 01-23-2009 06:35 PM

Just jumped off my bike after a brief 15 mile ride.... The high today was 63 here but I did not get home from work until almost 6pm

Hell I'm warming the wife's bike as I type and taking it out next!

azoomm 01-23-2009 06:38 PM

Now that we don't have winter, I was out today.

I'll definitely be riding downtown tonight to hear a great local band play. I manage to get in at least one ride each week (usually 'bike night'), but try to ride every day I can. :)

I hear ya, I move both bikes at least once a week, only snow or ice would prevent it which we don't see much of here.

ericr 01-23-2009 08:08 PM

I went for a short ride Sunday afternoon but before that it had been almost 2 months because i've been having bad problems with my sinuses this winter. My bike was pissed off at me too i think, i almost washed the front in a tight curve. Didn't think the tires would be that cold still after a few miles down the road :panic: The roads were still really cold even though the air temp was up that day (note to self). That and my tires are nearly gone too, got to get some new ones.

dReWpY 01-23-2009 08:13 PM

i went for a short spin today, it was 60's and over cast, but it was two wheels

ericr 01-23-2009 08:21 PM

I forgot to add, it was 63* or so here and sunny this afternoon...and 3 of my
friends rode up to the dealership to say hi and "look, I'm out riding".... the bastards!!!

I wish i'd rode in this morning but it was 19* at the house at 8:20 when I left :panic: On the way home it was still 62* in town and by the time I drove the 18 miles home it was 52* out in the country already.

Cass 01-23-2009 09:48 PM

Today :D

Dnyce 01-23-2009 10:09 PM

today.

im getting bold, knew it was raining and rode anyway:dthumb:

we'll see how long that lasts tho

derf 01-23-2009 10:14 PM

Today, it got kinda warm, I think into the upper 40's so I took a 20 minute ride to test out my new tailbag.

Porkchop 01-23-2009 11:35 PM

I hate all of you..... mid-September.

Neebs, what is "too cold" for you?

Today would have been AMAZING with a high of 49. Yea you southern people can laugh, but after two weeks of 15, 49 feels like a heat wave. BUUUTTT, of course i had to work.

Cutty72 01-23-2009 11:45 PM

3 months... just barely.

i'm ready for spring.

Smittie61984 01-24-2009 10:13 AM

I rode yesterday but before that atleast a month. Which I don't mind the cold at all but I work outdoors full time then go to school right after work. So it got annoying having a bookbag, with another bag full of clothes/shoes to change into before school. And then I had some thick Carhart bibs for the cold. And taking all of that into school was a PITA. So I trucked it for a bit. But I got some 30degree mountain biking in since I couldn't really ride the motorcycle.

Normally I judge it to the point I need my Carhart bib for the way to work at 6:30am. And then can just wear jeans on the ride home at 8:30pm when I leave school. That's when I take the bike out. Haven't had those days in a while.

DOH! I meant to say with in the last 6 months but hit more than 6 months...

September 17th to be exact day after my bro's birthday

cuttle 01-25-2009 10:38 PM

rode today for 6 hrs, mostly dirt and gravel roads (Pisgah Nat. Forest) plus about 80 miles on the slab to get there. The weather was perfect :rockout: (I didn't even plug in my heated gear)

Besided running out of gas on the way to the gas station, riding with tweaked forks (wasn't me), riding into a ditch - opps, and breaking a plate on the chain I had a great time

I drove to the polls, went home to get the bike to ride to work. Got less than 1/2 a mile away my house, then bam! Run over by a dump truck. :panic:

Which course did you like better? And why.

ceo012384 01-26-2009 11:52 AM

A lot of people look at my like i have ten heads when I say this, but I think I liked lightning better.

It's got some great elevation changes between turn 1 and 2, and right at the apex of 5. some really quick sections, some great trailbraking zones, and a huge lightbulb before you're hitting the kink onto the straight.

Thunderbolt is awesome too though... thunderbolt would definitely be a little safer for racing though, lightning is a little tighter and there is a barrier on the outside of the lightbulb. The other cool thing about thunderbolt is the section before the straight.... long sweeping left, then a chicane hard on the gas, then under the bridge and HARD fucking right at 120mph on the throttle... tits.

Overall I'd say lightning though.

I think I have a youtube of me riding lightning on my buddy's 636 and he's on my r6 let me dig it up.

Nice. I really wanted to get out there this year...but who knows right now.

ceo012384 01-26-2009 11:54 AM

Here's the video... I am the camera bike. He and I switch around a bit. Then his bike runs out of gas when I am at the apex of a turn :panic:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzeop6u-Jds

edit: wow, elevation changes are so different in person

you can see after the first lap my bike walks on his kawi on the straight

ericr 01-26-2009 09:24 PM

Cool vid ceo :dthumb:

What kind of camera do you use?

z06boy 01-27-2009 10:55 AM

I took this past Friday off from work and it was sunny and 62 degrees. A friend that also had the day off and I rode pretty much all day...it was great.:rockout:

unknownroad 01-27-2009 01:48 PM

Finally got to ride last week, after almost 6 weeks off due to various mechanical problems. Hoping to get some more days in this week, if I can ever finish all these freaking errands I need the cage for :panic:

Corey 01-27-2009 01:59 PM

Longer than a year. My Duc siezed up about two and a half years ago, and I've been snagging rides here and there on friends bikes, but the last time I rode was a little over a year ago. Suck.

Curb 01-27-2009 02:52 PM

gonna be 4 weeks for me on friday...

That particular video is on my buddy's bike and he has a pimp setup... it's this thing, the VIO POV1, which is awesome but also very expensive:

http://www.vio-pov.com/products.php?...ogin=&mem=&gr=

I personally have this setup on my R6 which I HIGHLY recommend:

Here is a vid I took with mine:

I had to pick in the last 6 months, unless I can count "riding" the bike while I pushed it from one side of the garage to the other for the winter.
