Let's play a little game. It's season, so the amount of people who come into the ER has increased dramatically. The peak times that people tend to come into our ER is between 12pm and 12am. If you were my boss, how would you handle the crushing amount of people showing up in the emergency room that need to be registered and/or admitted in a certain amount of time? If you answered "Send everyone but two people home because some of them are close to having overtime", then you think just like my boss. You also need to be fired immediately for being completely fucking ignorant.

If that was the philosophy behind it, I'd be a little tiny bit less pissed off. This was a "my friends want to get out of work early on a Friday, so let's just send them home. The other two can pick up the slack for two hours until one more person shows up." It's become such a blatantly obvious pattern that it's a sick joke among people in my department who aren't buddy buddy with the boss and people outside the department sick of dealing with the useless and lazy pieces of shit that manage to do less than the bare minimum and yet face no repercussions because the boss covers their asses.

Transfer or no transfer, I'm about done with this job. I refuse to continually pick up the slack for people who can't be bothered to work.

Then my job would still suck and I'd have a bad taste in my mouth. That doesn't seem like an upgrade to me, but if that works for you, then by all means keep on sucking, and maybe tickle the balls too.
