I keep track of every expense on my bikes, not just modifications. but I'm like that. plus its nice to have a log of what I've spent over time on the bike, and have it for if I sell it to give an idea what I've done.

2008 Buell 1125R MSRP $11,999 paid $11,500
Mods Pazzo shorty levers, blue paid $149 shipped. Drummer exhaust paid $998 shipped. So $1147 in mods. Wear items. 1 corsa III rear tire $178 1 set Pilot powers $258 + $30 M&B 9 quarts Screaming Eagle oil $63 3 oil filters $15 (estimate, I don't remember) 1 600 mile service $183 So another $727 in maint. costs Lic $50 Ins $564 Total cost of ownership (less fuel and traffic awards) to date. $13988 Which comes out to $1.61 a mile for what I have on it.

Same here. I keep reciepts for all work pertaining to the bike, less fuel receipts. I should add them up.
