I was going to say... my 600 isn't happy unless it is at least at 9K.

The Kawi 6RR was never known for low-end (I used to have an 03). But not all 600's are the same. If you had rode my 05 R6, I bet you never would had a problem with its sub-9K performance, unless you weigh 200+ of course.

People who say that you really have to rev out a 600 to get anywhere are just being stupid, unless they are talking about track riding.

Sure, if you mean keeping up with other bikes......or riding on the track........But you don't need to go past 9K to get ahead of traffic, unless you are street-racing against a pretty decent car.

True, I guess i've gotta realize that you live where there is a lot of traffic. Here, on the highway, I might pass a car every mile or so, less on back roads, so you can keep rpm's up pretty high all the time.

I'm talking about regular riding around here. I don't daily commute on my bikes. If I take them out for a ride usually it is a "spirited" run and I don't mean racing but I don't mean stop and go traffic either. After getting off of my R1...the R6 is flat below 8k period and I don't really like it...that's why it's now my wife's bike.

Don't get me wrong...it's a great bike but mainly for the track so you can rev the $hit out of it. If you ride in this area and plan to pass a car on a two lane...you better rev the R6 up but on my R1 it take a LOT less effort.

It's not being stupid...it's being factual.

First, there is a big difference between an 06-07 R6 and a 03-05. 06-07 were the worst years in terms of low-end power. For 08 Yamaha made some changes.

Also, some of you guys weigh 100 lbs more than me

Right. Look at the dyno graph from any middleweight 600. The peak power and torque are way up high in the rev range. This is not an issue for debate, this is fact.

Peak HP and peak torque on the Buell XB12R is at 6750 RPM.

That's at the very TOP of the rev range.

Fact.
