Totally off topic:

I've never seen Full Metal Jacket but my father asked me if he'd like it and if I knew anything about it. His father was a WWII vet and he enjoys army movies. I recommended it.....glad to hear it's spoken of so highly.

Probably THE best war movie ever produced. It follows them throught the hell of basic training, then to war. Awesome movie, best war movie in my collection.
