I killed many a squirrel, bird, rabbit, and other forest creatures for fun with a 22 or pellet gun along with everyone I hung out with. Yet, there isn't a serial killer in the bunch.

There is a difference here as well, the kid didn't have a want to kill the animal, he was forced to do it.

Are you just playing devil's advocate or do you honestly not see the difference in being forced to kill what you consider a pet or hunting rodents with a BB Gun? Of course there is a difference, that's why I said that. The serial killer thing is associated with kids who go around killing pets/animals because they want to do it because they like it. This kid didn't kill his pet because he wanted to do it, he was forced too, huge difference.

You took part in something that was cultural and social. What he was forced to do was secretive and anti-social. Do you not see the difference?
