More of the Buell story?

I started shopping them in Spring 09, bought in July, they announced the shutdown in Sept I think. BUT the word may have already hit dealers before the announcement?

I'm pretty sure Erik himself only knew a few days before the announcement was made.

Chicken or egg? Did they dump Buell because of slow sales or did Buell fail because of poor salesmanship?
