The cop definitely needs some takedown training and I think the punch to the face was probably a bad idea but I dont think he should be suspended, the girls were clearly resisting arrest.

I was thinking the same thing. A lone cop, surrounded by multiple people, one of whom is interfering with him while he's trying to take a subject into custody? Thirty years ago he'd have pulled his gun.

Agreed, at that point when he punched there were 2 people on him, and the punch got one of them away. All he really had to do though the whole time is droped her to the floor, he would have been justified 100% and could even have claimed it was an accident.
