New Florida Governor wants unemployment recipients to do community service

Here's a thought, if you're in the program working, maybe one of the details you draw is working in a daycare (under supervision.) Maybe you'll be driving a bus. We're already giving these people money, so involving them in providing service isn't too much of a stretch.

I've had community service and yes it does.... If you got laid off do you think they'll find you a job as a hand model? Besides, let's say you were a secretary and they could find you a cs position in an office. Ever work with a temp? How about one that's getting paid less than half their normal salary ? How about one that's being forced to work there by the state? Oh yea she'd be a peach...

How about this, in stead of punishing the unemployed for being out or work. Let's crack down on illegal workers in this country, deport the illegals and tighten our borders.

That or make the unemployed go to trade school or help pay for relocation away from low employment areas.

At any rate, as someone said, I'd focus on welfare rats before I started with the people collecting insurance. That's just me though....

Considering that most people arent qualified to do pro bono legal work or volunteer at a free clinic all they have available to them is either manual labor or maybe some type of social work like visiting the elderly.

I know you said under supervision but you want disgruntled laid off workers watching your kids......really?

BTW driving a bus actually requires training, licences, etc. Besides, last I looked, the public schools aren't looking for a million bus drivers.
