Evidently you don't know very much about the r7.

you are correct, sir.

I'd still take a new bike over 10 year old technology.

I PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW IN APRIL 1999, AND HAD IT ON DISPLAY IN MY MOTORCYCLE DEALERSHIP UNTIL I RETIRED 5 YEARS AGO.
Seems like a waste of a bike to me! How could you not be tempted to ride it?!

So does that mean a 10 year old motogp bike is slower than a brand new ninja250?

Derek here's one of the pics I was telling you about when we were at that bar. The R7 was my buddy's and he sold it to a guy who had an R1 with an r7 replica paint scheme.

Definitely collector's item. If I were to have the cash, I'd buy it and then run the piss out of it.

I think there were factory engine kits available for that bike... like pistons and camshafts and all that jazz... I'm sure with those you could build them to those numbers NtS.

As would I... it's one of the few bikes around which MOST of the examples were ridden like they were meant to be.

the street R7 is just a factory kit away from the one that raced in WSBK.

but its power is not the lure. its the intent of the bike and that its rare and modern at the same time.
