1) Again, I doubt there'd be a bazillion zombie hoard at your door without some warning... first zombie, doors are shutting. Weekly door testing just in case...

2) Zombie birds? Oh, you're talking a Resident Evil type of zombie... Ok, fair enough... I was thinking a more of a 28 Days Later sort of thing, but whatever...

1) How exactly are you going to shut one of those doors if it fails? Now you got a gigantic motherfuckin hole your protection and the dude that built it is not coming to help your ass (zombies = him with his family) and you aren't moving that big block of concrete yourself = fucked.

2) If you prepare for only one type of zombie = fucked

There seems to be a lot of fucking going on during a zombie apocalypse.

You guys can argue and nitpick all you want - but the truth is, I'd rather be in a place like that than just about anywhere else during a zombie apocolypse. It's still better fortified than 99% of what's out there.

Kinda my point.
I'm pretty sure every kind of structure is going to have potential pitfalls.
However, with a little bit of planning (a decent fence, good food & water stores, some form of off-the-grid power), a place like that is way better than the unsecured windows, weak doors, and overall poor defensibility of the vast majority of homes out there today.
